Meet Patrizia Gaio
My journey into Chinese medicine began years ago when I turned to Qigong to heal my back. The transformation was remarkable and sparked a deep involvement in this ancient practice. I first became a certified Qigong instructor, then completed a three-year diploma in Chinese medicine at Xiantian College with Damo Mitchell. I further specialised in Advanced Tuina with Sarah Pritchard and in Classical Chinese Medicine with Ann Cecil Sterman. Additionally, I studied Auricular Acupuncture with John Tindal. I am a registered member of the Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine (ATCM).
MY APPROACH
Healing is a unique an individual process and my role is to guide my clients in their journey with presence and awareness:
- The body is never wrong
- The illness is not an enemy
- Healing comes from synergic actions
- Every day choices make the difference
Every treatment is tailored to the individual rather than simply addressing symptoms in isolation. Drawing from Classical Chinese Medicine, acupuncture, Tuina and related therapies are used to support the body’s natural ability to restore balance, regulate the nervous system and promote long-term wellbeing.
Treatments may support people experiencing:
- stress and emotional imbalance
- chronic pain and muscular tension
- fatigue and burnout
- digestive issues
- hormonal, menstrual health concerns and fertility issues
- sleep difficulties
- recovery from prolonged or complex conditions
The aim of treatment is not only to relieve symptoms, but to support deeper balance within the body and mind. By addressing both the root cause and presenting symptoms, treatment can help improve resilience, energy, emotional wellbeing and overall quality of life.
About Your Visit
Your first session includes an in-depth discussion of your health history, symptoms, lifestyle and overall wellbeing. Traditional diagnostic methods such as pulse and tongue assessment help build a clearer understanding of underlying patterns and guide the treatment approach.
Sessions are calm, collaborative and adapted to your individual needs. Sessions may include:
- acupuncture
- Tuina medical massage
- cupping or moxibustion
- breathing or relaxation techniques
- lifestyle and dietary guidance
Alongside treatment, you may also receive personalised recommendations around nutrition, rest, movement and daily habits to support your recovery and long-term health.
During follow-up sessions, I begin by checking how you responded to the previous treatment and the current situation. I also use pulse and tongue diagnosis to guide the treatment for that day.
In Classical Chinese Medicine, there is no fixed treatment for a condition. Every person is unique, and treatments change as the body and mind begin to rebalance and heal.
Common conditions such as:
- stress and anxiety
- chronic pain and tension
- headaches and migraines
- digestive issues
- sleep difficulties
- fatigue and burnout
- hormonal and menstrual health
- emotional wellbeing
still require personalised investigation and treatment.
At each follow-up the work gets deeper and refined, fully in line with the person’s response and adaptability to the change.
