Meet Patrizia Gaio
My journey into Chinese medicine began years ago when I turned to Qigong to heal my back. The transformation was remarkable and sparked a deep involvement in this ancient practice. I first became a certified Qigong instructor, then completed a three-year diploma in Chinese medicine at Xiantian College with Damo Mitchell. I further specialised in Advanced Tuina with Sarah Pritchard and in Classical Chinese Medicine with Ann Cecil Sterman. Additionally, I studied Auricular Acupuncture with John Tindal. I am a registered member of the Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine (ATCM).
MY APPROACH
Healing is a unique an individual process and my role is to support and guide its stages while empowering the person to take an active and central role in their own progress. I offer support in three key aspects:
• Facilitating the understanding of the conditions causing the health imbalance and discomfort.
• Restoring health and well-being and allowing it to become a natural part of everyday life.
• Providing tools to maintain long-term wellness through nutrition and lifestyle choices.
About Your Visit
During the FIRST SESSION, I conduct a thorough assessment through in-depth questioning and physical examination to gain a comprehensive understanding of their condition. I also ensure they become aware of the underlying causes, which helps them better understand the advice given regarding diet and lifestyle.
Implementing change can sometimes feel overwhelming, but I always reassure my clients that adjustments will be introduced gradually, allowing the body and mind to adapt naturally. Before the end of the first session, I provide a treatment designed to initiate the necessary shift and break the patterns contributing to illness.
To allow for this in-depth approach, the first session lasts 90 minutes, while follow-up sessions are 60 minutes long.
During FOLLOW-UP SESSIONS, I begin by assessing how the client has responded to the previous treatment and how they are currently feeling. I then integrate findings from pulse diagnosis and tongue reading to determine the most appropriate treatment for that day.
Classical Chinese medicine does not follow rigid protocols—each person is unique, with their own path to healing. My role is to identify the best way to harmonize them with their natural state of balance. No condition is treated the same way in different people, and even for the same individual, treatments shift as their body and mind adjust.
Healing is an unfolding process, and while I cannot predict exactly how long it will take, However, chronic conditions typically require greater commitment and active participation from the individual.
The most rewarding part of my work is witnessing a person’s transformation—the moment when their entire being has shifted, when their body and mind feel different, lighter, freer. It’s a deeply moving experience, one that cannot truly be put into words but is felt on every level. The old pattern has been released, and something new has taken its place. Such an honour to be part of these journeys!
